My Treasures...... Five Star Stories

7th January of 2009, I went to my favorite books spot in Kinokuniya, KLCC along with my mother. There, again, I spent hundred++ dollar to update my Five Star Stories (F.S.S) collection. Seriously, I am a super die hard fan of Mamoru Nagano's F.S.S. For people who do not know F.S.S, please skip this post as it is very very complicated and over detailed. Well, as usual, my Kinokuniya shopping list was included two books of F.S.S series. My current reading status is until Traffics section, which is from book four to seven (still keep going to book eight). As a tradition, me browsed two books in less than an hour before the serious 'study'. Yes, 'study'.

For your information, F.S.S is a story which has 7000 years plus of history. Though the manga is not ended yet, but in each book of F.S.S included a list of important events of the Joker Solar System. Which means the ending is already there for reader to know about. Solar system? The setting of F.S.S was took place in five solar systems. One of the five was actually a hidden large comet named Stant that passes through that sector of space every 1,500 years pulling with it its own collection of orbiting planet. Complicated, huh?

Alright, this post will be a special post for my point of view, toward a Fatima's, Atropos's confession of being a Fatima, Chrome Ballanche Eiz Fates XI designed Fatima......

*Fatima: In short sentence, they are humanoid computers who have beautiful appearances, super human abilities, and able to work as CPU of super computers on a Mortar Headds. However, like robots, they were controlled by rules. To be loyal to their master, headdliners, not to be able to hurt any human under any condition, and to have no ability of reproduction.

*Headdliner: Mostly known as knight in our current language. Most of them are under control of certain groups or leagues (to control them from having reckless action). Headdliners are human with extraordinary abilities (sword skills, stamina, psychic power and etc). Each Headdliner is given one Fatima as partner of piloting a Mortar Headd.

Alright, back to the original purpose of typing this post.

It was taken part in a scene of Book Seven. There was this scene where Ladios Sopp and Atropos (yeah, along with the stupid Suezou) hided in a deserted tunnel. They were discussing about the incident which happened few hours ago. The subject came to the part of Ballanche's Fatimas were designed not to hurt Ladios Sopp. Wait wait wait! People, I know what you guys were thinking. The subject seemed to be very normal (quite) and why this fellow would like to talk about it? This is so boring! Guess these would be your reactions. Well, anyway. I'm still going to talk about it.

In the world of Fatimas, Fatimas were once humans. Normal humans like us. The reasons why they would become Fatima was either their families were so poor and desperate enough to sell their daughters (most Fatimas are females) to the Fatima designers, or some volunteers (most would be the designers' children) willingly to become Fatimas. Being a half human half machine, they were forced to live for few hundreds or even thousand years (etc EST) without having independent lives and thoughts. Which also means they will experience both born and death of others frequently. Some might be their families (I mean families before they became Fatimas), some might be their masters (Headdliners), friends or even their lovers. Though Fatimas were not programmed to have feeling of love but few cases does exists (etc Clotho, Queen and Lachesis). Having a long life does not mean to happy for sure, moreover these Fatimas were treated as lifeless puppets or emotionless machines to control Mortar Headds. How sarcastic!

In Atropos's review, she expressed the longs of every Fatima to be loved and remembered. Not as a cyborg but as a human. Though she was not given the mind controller (a device to control Fatima's mind from thinking as a human and expressing human like emotion, only few of Ballanche's products were not given such device). As said, in Fatima's life, nothing is significant, nothing is important and memories are only burdens and interruptions during data processing session. Nothing last forever and therefore nothing is worth to be remembered.

However, there is only one existence to be important to Ballanche's Fatima, Ladios Sopp.

*Ladios Sopp: A.k.a Amaterasu (I skipped the full name as it is too long). Being known as the emperor of A.K.D Delta Belune, he was also known to be the God of Light born from a virgin. Which means Ladios Sopp's mother give birth to him without mating or receiving sperms from any man. Kind of like Jesus. Being a God, he basically will not go old or death. I'll skip the rest as his story is too long. Haha......

Being the closest friend to Ballanche, Ladious Sopp always visit this awesome Fatima Designer. He been through lots of productions of Ballanche and spent time with most of them (teaching, playing, wandering, studying and even picnic?!). So, to these Fatimas, Ladios Sopp is the only existence in this world that will never change or disappear. Sort of like a guardian to them since they were children. Therefore, all Balanche's Fatima agreed will not hurt Ladios Sopp and will treat him as a last source of getting recommendation of once to be a human. However, one of Ballanche's Fatima Kyo almost putted herself in the situation of demolishing Ladios Sopp. Though it was under an unavoidable order from the master, but the action cost her brain to be malfunctioning and drugs were being used to ease the indescribable pain and confusion. Atropos was the only Fatima of Ballache hated him from designing her......

Complicated? Can't understand? Sorry, it was indeed not really for usual reader. But it is really a nice story, and the issue keeps wandering in my head. And so I decided to type it out. Anyway, me really hope there is more people to have interest in F.S.S.

Now me still wondering who might be Dougulus Kaien's father since Fatima Queen is his mother. Ballanche? Or Deimos Hiarak? Shit!
